China International Industry Fair (CIIF) is a grand large-scale world industrial expo. It is approved by the State Council, jointly organized by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Information Industry, the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, co-organized by China Machinery Industry Federation and managed by Shanghai World Expo (Group) Co., Ltd.

Shanghai International Industry Fair (SIF), the preexistence of CIIF was established in 1999. It developed continuously, healthily and stably by eight years’ running. From the year of 2006, approved by the State Council, SIF was now renamed as CIIF and regarded as a state-based and international platform which can display and trade the latest technology and products on industrial fields.

“Scientific Innovation and Equipment Manufacturing” is the theme of CIIF ， which intensifies the four major functions of “trade, exhibition, assessment and forum” while treats trade as a core function. After its renaming, CIIF extends its scale to 110,000 square meters, attracts more specialized exhibits, sets seven specialized show, including Key Technology & Equipment Show, Information Technology and Equipment Show, Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show, Industrial Automation Show, Energy Show, Environmental Protection Technology & Equipment Show, and Scientific & Technological Innovation Show.

Chinese government holds CIIF in Shanghai with the purpose to build CIIF as a famous international exhibition of equipment manufacturing in China. CIIF will be an importance stage to promote the building of an innovation-oriented country, encourage innovation, display latest products of equipment manufacturing and exchange newest information. CIIF will play an important role for Chinese government to change foreign trade growth model, upgrade foreign trade structure and promote equipment of manufacturing and electronics export.
