Our reporter Wang Jianan reported that on June 18, the Shaanxi-Central Asia Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Conference was held in Xi'an. The purpose of this conference is to accelerate the implementation of the Shaanxi-related achievements of the China-Central Asia Summit, deepen the comprehensive cooperation between Shaanxi Province and the five Central Asian countries in the economic and trade fields, and continue to amplify the effect of the summit. More than 100 representatives from the Department of Europe and Asia of the Ministry of Commerce, the business authorities of the five Central Asian countries, the Secretariat of the China-Central Asia Mechanism, as well as relevant departments at the provincial level in Shaanxi, business authorities of various cities (districts) in Shaanxi, open platforms and key foreign-funded and foreign trade enterprises in the province attended the conference.
The reporter learned at the meeting that since last year, Shaanxi has organized 106 economic and trade delegations to visit Central Asian countries to carry out pragmatic cooperation in the fields of energy and chemical industry, engineering contracting, light industry and textiles. In 2023, Shaanxi's imports and exports to the five Central Asian countries increased by 178% year-on-year, and from January to May this year, it increased by 136.2% year-on-year.
During the promotion session, representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan introduced the economic and trade development and cooperation projects of their respective countries.
Representatives from companies such as Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Group Co., Ltd., Huashan International Engineering Co., Ltd., and Xi'an Aiju Grain and Oil Group made promotional speeches at the meeting, fully demonstrating the strength and cooperation vision of Shaanxi companies in international trade channel construction, international engineering, and international trade and economics.
Representatives from Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Nonferrous Metals Holding Group Co., Ltd., Yangling Modern Agriculture International Cooperation Co., Ltd., China Railway 20th Bureau Group Co., Ltd., and Shaanxi Yalan Textile Group Co., Ltd. raised their respective concerns at the meeting regarding the policies and market environment involved in international cooperation. Relevant experts and heads of relevant departments gave detailed answers and put forward targeted suggestions.
