Minister Wang Wentao met with groups of business leaders

On the side of China France Business Council on the evening of April 6, Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met with groups of business leaders accompanying the visiting French President Macron, including Jean Lemierre, chairman of BNP, Jean-Pascal Tricoire, chairman and CEO of Schneider Electric, Florent Menegaux, Michelin’s CEO, Marc-Antoine Jamet, Secretary General of LVMH. Minister Wang said that the Chinese path to modernization will create new opportunities to businesses around the world, including French businesses. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to opening-up, and that China stands ready to work with the EU to provide a fairer, more transparent, and predictable business environment for two-way investments between China and Europe. China encourages French businesses to expand investments in China for long-term development. Let us jointly oppose decoupling to maintain stability in industrial chains and supply chains in China and Europe. They also discussed ways to increase the import of high-quality French products, facilitate people-to-people exchanges, and standard alignment between Chinese and European products.
