According to the Romanian National Trade Registration Bureau, in the first 11 months of 2023, the number of newly established foreign-funded enterprises in Romania was 6,447, a year-on-year decrease of 6.2%, and the total subscribed capital was US$123.435 billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.24 times. There were 597 newly registered foreign-invested companies in November, with wholesale and retail, automobile and motorcycle repair industries accounting for 24.46%, professional, administrative, scientific and technical activities accounting for 20.77%, and transportation, warehousing and communications accounting for 13.4%. As of the end of November 2023, there were 250,663 foreign-invested companies in Romania, with a subscribed capital value of nearly US$69.289 billion. Among them, Italian companies ranked first in terms of number of companies, reaching 52,677 (with subscribed capital of US$3.21 billion), and Dutch companies ranked first in equity value, reaching US$12.907 billion, with a total of 6,073 companies.
